Nspired to Run
While in high school the only thing I wanted to do was run. I ran Track & Field and did Cross-Country. I wasn’t any good at Cross-Country but I did it because I loved running so much and couldn’t find anything else I was interested in.
Not having a support system present made it harder to believe in what I was capable. I did, as much as I thought I needed to do but there was never a huge push to do better. And now it is a huge passion than it has ever been and I see that drive that I was missing when I was in high school.
I may not be the fastest or the strongest in distance but my determination to succeed has carried me through to the finish line. As I continue my journey, I sometimes wonder what exactly does it all mean to me.
R- rejuvenating: when I run everything that I’ve been feeling will fade away for just that moment. To rejuvenate you clear your head, feel younger, and breathe new life into your body. All the things you need to start over when things are just not going as planned.
U- understanding: sometimes you run with others and even if you’re not saying anything, you feel as if they truly understand you. You’re in sync with the road and maybe in step with the person you’re running with. There’s an understanding of body, mind, and soul.
N- nourishing: running is a great way to nourish your body physically, mentally and emotional. All these things with proper diet will keep your body in a place of healthiness.
Running has so much power. It can change your life by making you fitter, healthier, and for some even happier. It has created a new meaning to what life has to offer. It’s creates a place to go to, where you’re not stressing about the everyday struggles. You’re in a place where everything is about you and no one else. So I encourage you to not only stress less but also find a place to call your own. I’ve definitely found mine.
Wow! 2018 is coming to an end and the New Year will begin. Are you ready? Do you have regrets or have you done all that you could to make 2018 the best year it possible could be?
You cannot experience life by having regrets or looking backwards. It’s time now to move forward and build a more positive outlook on life for 2019. My New Year resolution is to get it my all, take risks, get stronger and healthier, and don’t forget my running goal; I want to run 2019 miles in 2019 as an overall goal.
It’s realistic and doable but life have its ups and down. Sometimes we just have to take a step back to take care of yourself and those down moments. It may not happen but I will not let it defeat. One goal sometimes leads to another goal and something better so do not give up, just keep trying and pushing forward.
Nspired to be great!
