Not everyone wakes up motivated and ready to go. Some of us need that extra push to get out of the bed and to tell you; today you will be great! Today I woke up lacking the motivation to even roll over. I lacked the energy to begin dealing with the struggles of the day.
I know I have a purpose and I wanted to fulfill that purpose. Each day I get up wondering what the day will hold. I do know one thing, I have a beautiful family and my inner self that I have to take care of.
Today I had an easy run and it was just right. The first 3 miles are always the hardest. They determine how the rest of my run will go. Will I have to struggle to continue or will I have the strength to not even think about it and conquer the challenges that it will present? This easy run came at a perfect time. I was not motivated to get out and I lacked the energy. Having that easy run I was able to take my time, clear my head and reboot.
The decision was made to wear one of my shirts to remind myself that we can all be inspiring. Just getting up each day and having a smile can help someone, going for a short run or walk can motivate a friend, posting a motivational quote or even saying hi to a neighbor.
Positivity is infective, when out on a path you can choose to see that path and follow it to the end to achieve your goal. Or like today, I noticed that many neighbors are putting their homes up for sale. I was thinking of their next adventure, their next steps towards greatness, and their inspirations. Because I do not know all them personally, I am hoping they are moving on because of a job promotion or new business endeavor. Maybe a new addition to their home and they need a larger space, or maybe their children have moved onto college and the work force, so their space is too much.
We can look at others’ situations and think of both positive and negative. Those thoughts are inherent in our beings. When you think of the positive it becomes infectious. Those positive thoughts willed me to complete a nice jog where I wasn’t feeling like going in the first place. Those thoughts gave me a peace to think of those that surround me, and those of whom I’ve never met, and want well for them. My thoughts inspired me to keep pushing as there are definitely more challenges and successes in my future. Those thoughts warmed me on a chilly and rainy day.
Being an inspiration to others is a lifetime journey!
